Savills advised on lettings and the sale
One of the world’s leading investment managers, BlackRock Inc., has disposed of the Berthold-Beitz-Boulevard retail park, previously known as Kaufpark Bamlerstraße, in Essen on behalf of a foreign institutional investor. The purchaser of the 13,000 sq m retail property at Berthold-Beitz-Boulevard 492-500 is the Hahn Group, which acquired the retail park via an asset deal for two of its institutional funds.
Global real estate services provider Savills advised the vendor during the sale process. Savills’ Retail Agency was responsible for the concept and lettings while the Retail Investment team handled the transaction of approximately €36m.
“The retail park in the north of Essen impresses with a balanced sector mix, including anchor tenants such as Aldi, dm and Deichmann as well as restaurants and office space. Going forward, there are also plans for an additional 6,000 sq m for a Kaufland supermarket,” says Jörg Krechky, Director / Head of Retail Investment Germany for Savills.
