Berlin: 'Ku'damm Eck' finds a major tenant for 19,500 sq m - Savills advises

In 2021, the fitness provider RSG Group will be relocating its Berlin headquarters from Prenzlauer Berg to the Ku’damm Eck, at the corner of Kurfürstendamm and Joachimsthaler Straße in the city’s Charlottenburg district.

The company has leased around 19,500 sq m and will move into the former premises of the Swissôtel Berlin. RSG intends to open a ‘fitness & social club’ with restaurants and hotel suites, its first in Germany, according to Centrum and RFR who acquired the property last year and are now remodeling it. RSG brands include McFit, High5, John Reed and Cyberobics. Savills brokered the new leasing transaction. The Ku’damm Eck has around 37,000 sq m of office and retail space. C&A will stay on as the main retail tenant, but in a significantly reduced capacity.

Jan-Niklas Schroers, Berlin Teamleader Office Agency for Savills in Germany, says: “The fact that RSG has taken out such a large area of office space and in such a prominent location underlines Berlin’s status as one of Europe’s metropolis and the strength of the local office market.”
